Free Yourself: Stay active with dance classes designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease
Come dance with us! Dance classes for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease provide an enjoyable, creative and safe environment for participants, their caregivers, spouses, partners and friends. Based on the Dance for PD® program developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, and seated dance, this class is appropriate for anyone with Parkinson’s Disease, no matter how advanced. No dance experience is required.
Participants will explore elements of modern dance, ballet, folk and social dancing in a non-pressured, stimulating, enjoyable, social environment. Classes will be led by Amy Booth MSc PT and Jackie Mills of “Sit’n’ Dance”.
A Day Away: Free Yourself will be the third of four multi-week arts programs offered for free to seniors living in Kingston and supported by Ontario’s Senior Community Grant Program.
About Seniors Community Grant Program
