With collaboration, innovation, and a little sparkle in mind, we’re excited to announce our season theme: Bling! Get ready for a season full of creativity, shine, and meaningful community connections as we work together with community artist instructors and a team of volunteers from the Vogue Charity Fashion Show team to bring new ideas to life. This season, we’ll focus on creating vibrant, interactive experiences that shine with individuality and teamwork. From dazzling accessories to movement and textile workshops, Bling! is about the joy of bringing brilliant ideas to life, all while fostering strong connections with our community.
Here’s a bit about at our Winter/Spring workshops.
Fabric Workshop: Unveiling Creativity with Ruth Leblanc
Design and sew stunning capes that initially conceal their bling-y creations! This hands-on session will guide you through the process of crafting elegant capes and masks, perfect for adding an air of mystery before the big reveal at the end of our video.
Jewelry Workshop: Radiant Adornments with Janet Ross
Take part in a creative and hands-on jewelry workshop centered around Vogue Charity Fashion Show theme “Let the Light In.” Guided by jewelry artist Janet Ross alongside Vogues’ talented models and volunteer designers, you’ll explore vibrant colours and textures to craft unique pieces like bracelets, necklaces, and more, all designed to capture light.
On the Catwalk with Katie Bala & Kinsley Curran
Featuring choreography and videography by Camille Spencer
Learn movement techniques and enhance modelling skills through workshops led by Dancers Katie and Kinsley. Choreographed and filmed by Camille Spencer, your resulting moves and catwalk rehearsal will be showcased in a short film…and maybe even shared with Vogue Charity Fashion Show audiences!
Bling! Self Portraits with Ben & Syd
Create a self-portrait, exploring personal expression through colour, texture, and form. Once completed, you’ll cut out your masterpiece and transform it into a wearable work of art for the runway by sewing it onto the front of a shirt. This hands-on experience not only allows you to showcase your artistic talents but also fosters a sense of pride in your individuality. As part of this workshop, Craft a mask inspired by self-expression! Drawing from a shared inspiration, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of colours, textures, and materials that embody fun, flair….and bling!
And Yessica Belsham Rivera of Ollin Kingston is back! Take part in a dynamic workshop that shines a light on the beauty of multidisciplinary art connection, inspiring creativity through collaboration and cultural exploration.
